After an award winning MASCAC season, Plymouth State forward Will Redick earn American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) and United States College Hockey Online (USCHO) accolades.
The CCM/AHCA All-American Hockey Teams are sponsored by CCM Hockey and chosen by members of the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA). Redick becomes the second All-American in program history, joining Myles Abbate who also claimed First Team honors last winter. He was also named Second Team All-USCHO for her outstanding season.
Redick, already named the MASCAC Player of the Year and First Team All-MASCAC, put together one of the finest offensive seasons in program history. He continues to lead the country in goal-scoring by a comfortable margin. His 27 goals on the season were the second-most in program history and just two shy of the school record.
Not just a prolific goal-scorer, Redick's 1.15 assists per game are also tops in the nation. His 31 helpers were tied for sixth-most in program history, while his 58 points this year are number two all-time. Redick averaged a staggering 2.15 points per game to pace all of D-III hockey by more than 0.50 points per game.
The 5-9 forward poured in 11 power play goals, tied for the most in the country, and was an offensive threat right from the season's opening puck drop. In a sign of things to come, Redick recorded the first of two hat tricks in a season-opening, 5-1 win over #5 University of New England on Oct. 27, a feat he repeated on Dec. 2 in a 6-1 win at Salem State.
Redick was held scoreless in just four of his 27 games. He posted 21 multi-point games and 12 games of three-plus points. He was also strong in the faceoff circle, winning more than 56% of his draws.
Plymouth State had another historic season, winning a league-record fifth straight MASCAC Tournament title, setting a new program record for wins (24-3-2) and capturing the program's first NCAA Tournament win, a 5-2 victory over #13 Cortland, at Hanaway Rink on Mar. 9. PSU's season came to an end in the national quarterfinals in a 4-1 setback to #2 Utica.
