MASCAC Men's Ice Hockey Weekly Awards 1/15
The UMass Dartmouth duo of Tyler Stewart and Collin Patterson along with Trevor Stenberg of Framingham State take home the MASCAC Men's Ice Hockey Player, Rookie and Goalie of the Week after going undefeated in league play last week.

Player of the Week
Tyler Stewart, UMass Dartmouth
Sophomore, Forward, Pittsburgh, Pa.
Stewart scored a pair of goals in all three games played in MASCAC action in a 3-0 week for the Corsairs. Of his six goals scored, two were game-winners, including over Fitchburg State and Worcester State in overtime. In the overtime win against the Lancers, Stewart scored the second goal of the game to put the Corsairs up 2-0, followed by game-winner at 1:42 of overtime on the power play. Tallied two goals in the 4-2 win over MCLA and two more in the 6-4 win over Fitchburg State. In addition to 15 shots, he was an impressive +5 on the week. |
Goalie of the Week |
Stenberg recorded two league victories on the week with a 2.9 GAA, 75 saves and a .926 save percentage. Earned the OT victory over Salem making 37 saves and followed that up with the come from behind victory over Westfield where he made 38 stops. |
Rookie of the Week |
Patterson was outstanding last week, helping the Corsairs go 3-0 in MASCAC play. He contributed two goals and three assists for five points, including the eventual game-winning goal against MCLA. Against the Trailblazers, he scored the game-winner at 18:48 of the second period, adding an assist on the final goal of the game. He scored the game’s first goal against Worcester State, going on to assist on the third goal of the game enroute to the 4-3 win in OT. For the week, he had 11 shots and was a +4. |
