Plymouth State’s Redick Voted MASCAC Men’s Ice Hockey Player of the Year, the Panthers’ Andersson Named Defensive Player of the Year, Headline 2023-24 MASCAC All-Conference Team
The Plymouth State duo of Will Redick and Kalle Andersson have been voted as the 2023-24 MASCAC Men’s Ice Hockey Player and Defensive Player of the Year and headline the 2023-24 All-Conference team as voted on by the eight coaches from around the conference.

WESTFIELD, Mass. -- The Plymouth State duo of Will Redick and Kalle Andersson have been voted as the 2023-24 MASCAC Men’s Ice Hockey Player and Defensive Player of the Year and headline the 2023-24 All-Conference team as voted on by the eight coaches from around the conference.
Redick, a sophomore forward from Collingwood, Ontario, had a stand out season for the MASCAC Regular Season Champion Panthers to earn Player of the Year accolades. During the year, he collected 55 points on 26 goals and 29 assists with his points per game (2.20), goals per game (1.04), assists per game (1.16) and power play goals (11) leading all of Division III. Besides leading the league in goals, points and power play goals, he was also atop the MASCAC with two hat tricks on the season. Of the 25 games he competed in this season, he registered points in 23 of them, including 11 with him collecting three points or more.
Taking home the first-ever MASCAC Defensive Player of the Year, Andersson, a senior goalie from Taby, Sweden, was a key part of the Panthers earning their seventh regular season title this season with an 18-1-2 record in league action and 23-2-2 overall. Between the pipes, he was first in the league in goals against average at 1.75, save percentage at .934, wins with 20 and win percentage at .891. He also collected the fourth-most saves at 565 while only allowing 40 goals all season. He registered two shutouts while only allowing a single goal in eight contests on the year.
Earning the 2023-24 MASCAC Rookie of the Year honors is Collin Patterson of UMass Dartmouth. The freshman forward from Rockledge, Fla. found the back of the net 16 times while also assisting on 19 goals for 35 points all in the top five of the conference. He also collected two power play goals, two hat tricks and two game-winners this season. Patterson becomes the third Rookie of the Year honoree in the school’s history and the first since the 2014-15 season.
After guiding the Rams to the fifth seed in the tournament and eight wins on the year, Mike Bailey of Framingham State was voted the 2023-24 BSN Sports Coach of the Year by his peers.
Joining Redick and Andersson on the MASCAC All-Conference First Team are Connor Tait of Plymouth State and Michael Perrone of UMass Dartmouth at forward and Donte’ DiPonio and Rider McCallum of Plymouth State on defense.
Landing on the MASCAC Second Team is Erik Larsson of Salem State, Tyler Stewart of UMass Dartmouth and Christopher Miraldo at forward, Antoine Gignac of Fitchburg State and Jake Maynard of UMass Dartmouth on defense and Mathew Gover of MCLA in goal.
