MASCAC Athletes Collect ECAC Weekly Honors
Four student-athletes from the MASCAC earned ECAC Weekly Honors for their outstanding play in their respective sport this week.
Centerville, Mass.-- Four MASCAC student-athletes have earned weekly award honors as announced by the Eastern College Athletic Conference this week.

DII Northeast Co-Offensive Player of the Week
Octavias McKoy – Western Connecticut State
University
Senior, Running Back, Stratford, Conn.
McKoy Ran for a school-record 372 yards on 42 carries (8.9 per carry) and five touchdowns in the Colonials setback against Massachusetts Maritime, 54-53. Set a total of four records on the day including five rushing and overall touchdowns and 30 points scored. Racked up most yards rushed in a single game so far this season in Division III.
DII Northeast Defensive Player of the Week
Derek Tarpey – University of
Massachusetts-Dartmouth
Sophomore, Linebacker, Tewskbury, Mass.
Tarpey finished with 22 tackles, including 14 solo and five for a loss, plus two forced fumbles and a sack to spearhead the Corsairs comeback against Bridgewater State, 33-29.

DIII New England Co-Defensive Player of the Week
Kacie Sturgeon – Bridgewater State
University
Senior, Goalkeeper, Dartmouth, Mass.
Sturgeon posted a 0.50 goals against average and a 91.7 save percentage to backstop Bridgewater State to a 2-0 mark this past week in the Little East circuit. The senior from Dartmouth, Mass. stopped 11 of the 12 shot she faced. Sturgeon made four saves to record her conference-leading seventh shutout of the season against Framingham State on Oct. 9. Four days later, she turned aside seven attempts at Western Connecticut.

DIII New England Defensive Player of the Week
Aidan Hanratty – Fitchburg State
University
Junior, Goalkeeper, Bridgewater, Mass.
Hanratty extended his current shutout streak to 885 minutes with 200 minutes of scoreless action in a 1-0-1 week for the Falcons. Posted nine saves in a 1-0 victory over Lesley University, while capping the week with 12 stops in a 0-0 draw with Bridgewater State. Currently leads all Division III with a .951 save percentage.
