MASCAC Football Weekly Awards 10/8
The Framingham State duo of Devaun Ford and Moise Nazaire along with Mike Henricksen of UMass Dartmouth and Jorge Aquino Debes of Bridgewater State take home the MASCAC Off., Special Teams, Defensive and Rookie of the Week honors after leading their teams to conference wins this weekend.

Offensive Player of the Week |
Ford ran for 157 yards and two touchdowns and caught two passes for 27 yards and a touchdown in three quarters of action in the Rams’ 40-7 win over Fitchburg State. Averaged 6.8 yards per rush with touchdowns of 37 and seven yards while also catching a 19 yard pass for a score all in the first half of the win. |
Defensive Player of the Week |
Henricksen notched a game-high 12 tackles, including three solo in the Corsairs’ 26-0 over Mass. Maritime. He posted one tackle for a loss of four yards, in addition to a sack for a loss of four yards. His efforts helped the Corsairs shutout the Buccaneers and hold them to only 168 yards of total offense. |
Special Teams Player of the Week |
Nazaire returned the opening kick of the second half 86 yards for the touchdown in his only return of the day in the Rams’ 40-7 win over Fitchburg State. Also collected five solo tackles and an interception on the defensive side in the victory.

Rookie of the Week |
Debes recorded five tackles (two solo) including a sack and 1/2 tackles for loss to go along with a pass breakup in the Bears’ 35-7 MASCAC win on the road over Worcester State University. The BSU defense limited the Lancers to just 177 yards of total offense (with 80 of those coming on a fourth quarter drive with the Bears leading 35-0 and the starters on the bench). |
