MASCAC Football Weekly Report 11/20
James Cahoon, Shane Drake and Isaiah Wright of Bridgewater State along with Manny Sanchez and Luc Normandeau of Plymouth State take home the final MASCAC Football weekly awards after winning their New England Bowl matchups Saturday.

Cahoon completed 24 of 33 pass attempts for 249 yards and three touchdowns to earn Most Valuable Player honors in the Bears’ 34-24 New England Bowl victory over Catholic University. Connected on scoring strikes of three, nine and 32 yards and also added 29 yards on the ground. |
Co-Offensive Player of the Week |
Sanchez rushed for 131 yards and a touchdown to help Plymouth State rally from a 20-0 deficit to beat Husson, 21-20, in the New England Bowl on Saturday. Sanchez registered 30 carries for a 4.4 yards per carry average, scoring the game-winning touchdown with less than six minutes remaining. He accounted for 45 of the team’s 53 yards in the game-winning drive. |
Defensive Player of the Week |
Normandeau had a hand in two of the defense’s four takeaways in the Panthers’ 21-20, come-from-behind win over Husson in the New England Bowl on Saturday. Snagged an interception on the Eagles’ opening drive and forced a fumble early in the second quarter. He finished with four tackles, including three solo stops and one tackle behind the line of scrimmage. |
Special Teams Player of the Week |
Drake converted a pair of fourth quarter field goals, including a career-long of 39 yards, and averaged 56 yards on seven kickoffs with five touchbacks. He also averaged 36.7 yards on three punts including a key 45-yard punt late in the fourth quarter that was downed at the two.

Rookie of the Week |
Wright rushed for a career-high 120 yards on 23 carries and caught five passes for 27 yards in the Bears’ 34-24 New England Bowl victory over Catholic University. Averaged 5.2 yards per carry in his first collegiate start.
