Four MASCAC Student-Athletes Named to D3Football.Com All-East Region Team

Elvis Romero of Bridgewater State, Stephen Beahn of Framingham State, Marshall McCarthy of Massachusetts Maritime and Pat Sullivan of UMass Dartmouth have been named to the 2016 D3Football.com All-East Region.
Sullivan, the 2016 MASCAC Offensive Lineman of the Year, earned a spot on the first team while Romero and McCarthy, the 2016 MASCAC Defensive Player of the Year, placed on the second team. Beahn rounded out the honorees on the third team.
In ten games for Bridgewater State this season, Romero accumulated 53 tackles (35 solo) including 16 tackles for loss and five sacks to go along with a pair of forced fumble. The Wayne, New Jersey product tied for second in the MASCAC in tackles for loss and tied for fifth in sacks. This is his second straight year being named to the NEFWA All-New England squad.
Beahn, a 2016 first team All-MASCAC honoree and an ECAC All-Star, was the Rams leading scorer this season with 12 touchdowns and two point conversion for 74 points. Beahn made 27 catches on the year for 541 yards with six touchdowns in eight games, while also rushing for 131 yards and six scores.
McCarthy recorded 108 total tackles in just nine games played for the Buccaneers during the season to rank 12th nationally in NCAA Division III that category. Marshall led the country in solo stops with 83 overall (9.2 per game), and he became the first player in school history to post back-to-back 100-tackle campaigns.
Sullivan anchored a Corsair offensive line that finished with a program-record 4,641 total yards offense on the season, averaging 464.1 yards per game. As a unit, the Corsairs posted 500-plus yards in six separate outings including a 705-yard performance against Mass. Maritime. At the left tackle position, Sullivan was a key component in a season that saw a league-best 2,879 rushing yards and 24 rushing touchdowns, with three Corsair running backs totaling above 500 on the season. He also provided protection for 1,762 passing yards (176.2 per game) and MASCAC-best 19 passing touchdowns while allowing just 19 sacks.
