690 Student-Athletes Named To Fall 2016 MASCAC All-Academic Team
A total of 690 student-athletes have been honored by the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference with selection to the league’s Fall 2016 All-Academic Team that was released earlier today by Commissioner Angela Baumann.

Mass. Maritime's McCarthy Selected As National Finalist For Cliff Harris Award
Massachusetts Maritime senior linebacker Marshall McCarthy is one of 81 national finalists from across three divisions of play for the 2016 Cliff Harris Award presented to the nation’s top small college defensive player. The announcement was made over the weekend by the Little Rock (Ark.) Touchdown Club, which will name the recipient of this year’s prestigious honor on Christmas Eve.

Boston Globe: "Marshall McCarthy Sets School Standards - Twice"
A lot of great football players have come through Mass Maritime Academy. On the defensive side of the ball, Marshall McCarthy might be one of the best ever. The 2013 graduate of Duxbury High just concluded his final season at the academy, where he earned Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year honors after recording 108 tackles in nine games, ranking 12th nationally in Division 3.

UMass Dartmouth's Sullivan Selected as AFCA Division III Second Team All-American and D3football.com All-American Honorable Mention
University of Massachusetts Dartmouth senior Pat Sullivan became the second All-American in Corsair football program history on Monday, as he was named to the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) Division III Coaches’ All-America Second Team as an offensive lineman. In the first year that the AFCA has selected a Second Team since 1945, Sullivan becomes one of just 50 Division III football players nationally to earn the prestigious honor.

Duxbury Clipper: "McCarthy Wraps Up Stellar Career With Buccaneers"
Marshall McCarthy, who graduated from Duxbury High in 2013, was an integral member of the Dragons’ most recent state champion football team. In 2011, Duxbury cruised to a 35-0 win over Tewksbury in the EMass Division 2 final, and ever since that day the Dragons have been clawing their way closer to another championship.

Framingham State Wins Inaugural New England Bowl 37-34 over Salve Regina
The Framingham State University defense stopped Salve Regina University on four straight plays inside the ten in the final two minutes as the Rams defeated the Seahawks 37-34 in the Inaugural New England Bowl. The Rams close the season at 8-3, while the Seahawks are 8-2.
