In football, Bridgewater State's Matt Green, Massachusetts Maritime's Kenny Pierce and Worcester State's Sebastian Paz collected awards for football while Massachusetts Maritime's Joe Cohen earned one for men's soccer.
Green caught eight passes for a career-high 216 yards and three touchdowns, including the game-winning four-yard touchdown with 41 seconds left to play, in the Bears’ 27-23 win over Westfield State. En route to the career-day, Green tied a school record with a 95-yard touchdown grab and added a 90-yard score as well. His efforts helped earn him ECAC and MASCAC Co-Offensive Player of the Week.
Pierce, the reigning ECAC and MASCAC Rookie of the Week, rushed for a career-high 186 yards on nine carries while accounting for 227 all-purpose yards (41 receiving) and a pair of touchdowns in the Buccaneers’ 46-41 victory over UMass Dartmouth.
Paz kicked the game-winning 32-yard field goal with two seconds on the clock and connected on all seven PATs in the Lancers’ 52-49 win over Western Connecticut. He along with Anthony Emberle of MIT were named the ECAC Defensive Player of the Week.
Cohen collected seven saves in a 2-0 shutout victory over Framingham State last week. The senior goalkeeper also added his first career assist on offense. Earlier in the week, he was named MASCAC Player of the Week and added ECAC Co-Defensive Player of the Week.
