Framingham State's Van Alstyne and Western Connecticut's McKoy Named D3football All-Americans
Framingham State Rams' senior Melikke Van Alstyne and Western Connecticut State Colonials senior Octavias McKoy have been named to the D3football.com All-America team.

WESTFIELD, Mass. -- Framingham State senior Melikke Van Alstyne and Western Connecticut State senior Octavias McKoy have been named to the D3football.com All-America team.
The 2013 season was a stellar one for both running backs. McKoy earned numerous post-season awards, including the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year, D3football.com East Region Offensive Player of the Year and was a finalist for the Gagliardi Trophy. He recently was also named to the AP Little All-America Third Team.
Leading the Colonials to a 6-2 MASCAC record, McKoy led the league in rushing yards per game with 183.3 and finished the year with a school-record 28 touchdowns. During a conference game with Worcester State, McKoy broke the record for most rushing yards in a single game across all NCAA divisions with a 455-yard outing.
Van Alstyne earned his share of accolades in 2013 with a spot on the New England Football Writers All- New England Team, MASCAC First Team All-Conference, Gridiron Club of Greater Boston Joe Zabilski Award winner and also competed in the D3 Senior Classic.
Helping the Rams to a perfect 8-0 in conference play and a trip to the NCAA tournament, Van Alstyne closed out his Framingham State career with over 6,000 rushing yards. He finished the season with 19 touchdowns and an average of 147 yards rushing per game.
