SPRINGFIELD, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State University volleyball team dropped a 3-0 (25-16, 25-20, 25-18) decision to Plymouth State University at the Springfield College Tom Hay Invitational on Friday evening.
Junior middle hitter Shelly DePina (New Bedford, Mass.) paced the Bears (6-6) with ten kills, three digs and a pair of blocks, while freshman setter Melanie Appleman (Hyannis, Mass.) added 28 assists. Senior outside hitter Natalie Cohen (Marstons Mills, Mass.) also chipped in with five kills, five digs, a block and an assist.
Bridgewater will take on host Springfield on Saturday at 10:00 AM, followed by a noontime match with Westfield State.
