Recap:

Wentworth took a quick early lead in the game to get things rolling, but the Lancers quickly righted the battle off some shard shooting from senior Ryan Rubenskas (Bridgewater, MA) and junior Aaron Nkrumah (Worcester, MA). The first half quickly turned into a back and forth battle with senior Sam Dion (Barre, MA), Nkrumah, graduate student Zion Hendrix (Charlotte, NC) and Rubenskas grabbing some quick points to push Worcester into their first lead of the game. The hard work from the unit would continue for the remainder of the final minutes to see the Lancers take a 40-36 lead into the half.

Worcester State was off to a great start led by Nkrumah who poured in 12 points along with a further  8 points from Ryan Rubenskas to give the Lancers the halftime lead.

Wentworth came out of half time and worked to regain the lead but Worcester State was able to come back and regain their lead after a back and forth tussle for points that would see Rubenskas grabbing boards and hitting shots. A basket from Hendrix with about seven and a half remaining would begin the momentum that would slowly put the lead solidly in the Lancers hands with Worcestetr claiming the 85-74 victory.

Worcester State now sits at (1-1, 0-0) and returns to action next Tuesday when they welcome Plymouth State to Brissette Court at 7pm.
