The Fitchburg State men's soccer team dropped a 4-0 decision to the Lancers of Worcester State University this morning in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action from Coughlin Field.

How It Happened

Worcester State scored the game's first goal a minute into the match, as freshman Santino Romeo (Sutton, Mass.) buried one from a pass from Matt Alzamora (Holden, Mass.) to put the Lancers up 1-0.

Thirty minutes later Worcester State doubled the lead after Nate Lewos (Auburn, Mass.) found freshman Fidel Castro (Auburn, Mass.) for his first goal of the season. The Lancers extended the lead to 3-0 just before halftime with an unassisted tally from Juma Kombe (Leominster, Mass.).

Worcester State capped the scoring in the 65th minute when Kombe would add his second of the game for the 4-0 final.

  • Worcester State held a 19-11 margin in shots, while also finishing with a 7-4 edge in corner kicks
  • Sebastian Jaramillo (Dracut, Mass.) turned aside 4 shots for the Falcons in the setback
