NORTH ADAMS, Mass. -- The Bridgewater State College women's soccer team dropped a 3-0 decision to MCLA on Saturday afternoon in North Adams.
The game marked the MASCAC opener for both teams. Bridgewater falls to 1-3-1 (0-1 MASCAC) with the loss, while MCLA improves to 4-2 (1-0 MASCAC) on the season.
Jess Tietgens (Stamford, VT) notched a pair of goal for the Trailblazers including the game-winner. Tietgens also assisted on Harmony McGorman's (Orleans, MA) goal midway through the second half which put the finishing touches on the win.
BSC finished the game with thirteen shots on goal and actually outshot the Trailblazers 13-10. Christine Soucy (Rockland, MA) led the team with four shots on frame.
MCLA netminder Jen Wehner (Cooperstown, MA) made thirteen saves in the shutout effort. BSC goalie Kayla Grover (Haverhill, MA) made seven saves in defeat.
Bridgewater will host Rhode Island College on Tuesday at 3:30 PM, while MCLA hosts Green Mountain College Wednesday at 4:00 PM.
