SPRINGFIELD, MA - Captain Colin Macdonald scored on a penalty kick in the 23rd minute as Western New England posted a 1-0 victory over visiting Worcester State Tuesday (Oct. 6) at Suprenant Field.
Macdonald's third goal of the season came at the 22:02 mark of the opening half.
Kevin Strobel finished with three saves for the Golden Bears while Jason Barrett also stopped three shots for the Lancers.
The Golden Bears held a narrow 10-8 in shots on a picture perfect fall afternoon.
This was the third straight win for Western New England who moves over the .500 level at 6-5.
Coach Devin O'Neill's side has won four of its last five matches with five of its victories coming by a single goal.
