WORCESTER, Mass. - The Worcester State University women's volleyball team made quick work of Lesley University on Wednesday evening, defeating the Lynx 3-0 at the John P. Brissette Court. Set scores were 25-5, 25-2, 25-4.

Worcester State took the lead early in the first set and never looked back. The Lancers strung together a solid lead and Brooke Lamothe (Tewksbury, Mass.) closed the set with three service aces capping the win for the Lancers.

The Lancers cruised through the second set with a 22 point run starting out, highlighted by eight service aces from Emily Laventure (Cranston, R.I.).  A kill from Sydney Hart (Staffod, VA) put the Lynx on the board, but didn't have enough to overcome the dominate lead Worcester State set up.

The final set had Lesley on the board early with a kill from Megan Lorenze (Concord, NH) but ultimately couldn't overcome the Lancers offense. Laventure and Denise Hoxha (Worcester, Mass.) both had two service aces in the set while Megan Bardis (Rutland, Mass.) had three of her own.

Camryn Burgio (Quincy, Mass.) led all players in the match with 6 kills. Laventure finished the night with ten service aces.

Worcester State will return to action on Friday with a double header at Wheaton College against the Lyons and Middlebury. First serves for the two matches are 4 p.m. and 8 p.m.
