Falcons Fall to Rams in MASCAC Clash
Fitchburg, Mass.– The Fitchburg State University football team dropped a 35-0 decision to the Rams of Framingham University this afternoon in Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) action this afternoon from Elliot Field.

How It Happened
Framingham State took an early lead with 8:12 remaining in the first quarter as sophomore Devaun Ford (Mashpee, Mass) plunged in from three-yards out to cap a 14 play, 99 yard drive for the 7-0 edge. The Rams doubled the lead when quarterback Nicholas Goffredo (Hyde Park, Mass.) connected with Ford for a 30-yard touchdown. Ford finished the first half scoring with a 1-yard scamper for the 21-0 advantage at halftime.
Framingham State upped the score in the third quarter as Goffredo hit wide receiver Nick Gordon (Franklin, Mass.) for a 20-yard strike (28-0). The Rams would tack on another score in the fourth quarter, resulting in the 35-0 final.
Inside the Numbers
- Offensively for the Falcons sophomore Logan Wilson (Woburn, Mass.) was 3-for-7 for 28 yards, while junior Frank Sims (Revere, Mass.) had 30 rushing yards. Wide receiver Timothy O'Neil (Ashby, Mass.) had 31 receiving yards.
- Goffredo finished the day 21-for-37 for 282 yards and two touchdowns. Ford had 92 receiving yards and a score, while Marcus McBean Jr (Norwood, Mass.) ran for 69 yards for the visitors
- Defensively, senior Mukandu Ashema (Worcester, Mass.) had a 5 total tackles and a sack for the Green and Gold, while classmate Rodny Bonhomme (Bridgeport, Conn.) had a team-best 7 total tackles. Sophomore Marcus Moss (Dighton, Mass.) had an interception.
- Junior Nick Ashley (Worcester, Mass.) led the Rams with 9 tackles
