Women's Soccer Falls in Heartbreaker to Salem State

NASHUA, NH: The Rivier women's soccer team fell to non-conference opponent Salem State this evening in double overtime with just 12 seconds left by a score of 2-1.

THE BASICS:

- Date: 10/12/2021

- Score: Salem 2, Rivier 1

- Records: Salem (3-8), Rivier (2-11-1)

HOW IT HAPPENED:

-  Tonight's contest ended with a double overtime corner kick from the Vikings to take the victory. The ball barely crossed the line to give Salem's Jasmin Moran her second goal of the game. Her first goal came in the first half at 26:19 to give the visiting team the 1-0 lead.

-  The Raiders tied it up in the 65th minute on a Kaylee Magoon (Loudon, NH) goal. Magoon leads the team in goals this season with six.  

- The match remained tied through the remainder of regulation and the first overtime. The second overtime had just 12 seconds left when the Vikings lined up for a corner kick. The cross ended up in front of the net when Moran was able to touch it just enough to cross the goal line and seal the victory.
